Stair Lift FAQs
What types of stair lifts are available?
We offer straight, curved, and outdoor stair lifts from Bruno, the #1 most trusted brand in stair lifts. All Bruno stair lifts are made in the USA and installed by our certified technicians. We’ll help you select the right model based on your home and needs.
How long does installation take?
Most straight stair lifts can often be installed in a single day and we often carry these in stock. Custom curved stair lifts may take longer due to the more complex installation required, but our team keeps you informed every step of the way.
Can stair lifts be removed later?
Yes. Stair lifts can be removed and re-installed as your needs or housing situation change.
Will insurance cover my stair lift?
In most cases, Medicare and private insurance do not cover stair lifts, but we’ll help clarify your specific situation. Some long-term care insurance policies (like IRIS, Lakeland, or CLTS) or grant programs may offer coverage for patients enrolled in those programs.
Do you offer rental stair lifts?
Yes. Short-term rental options are available for straight staircases—perfect for rehab recovery, hospice care, or visitors with temporary needs. After 14 months of renting, your stair lift will convert to a purchase and you will own the product.
What happens during a power outage?
All Bruno stairlifts are battery-operated, meaning they run solely on battery power—even during normal use. A standard wall outlet is used only to keep the batteries charged. In the event of a power outage, the stair lift will continue to operate as usual, allowing you to safely access the main level of your home.
What is the weight limit for stair lifts?
All Bruno Elan stair lifts have a 300lb maximum weight capacity while Bruno Elite stair lifts have a 400lb max weight.
Who Uses Stair Lifts?
Our stair lift customers range from aging adults who want to avoid downsizing, to people recovering from surgery, to caregivers looking for ways to make their home safer for loved ones.
If you’re experiencing:
Difficulty climbing stairs
Fear of falling
Reduced leg strength or balance
Post-surgical mobility limitations
Need to access basement laundry, garage, or upper-level bedrooms — especially while carrying heavy loads.
If any of these sound familiar, a stair lift could be the right solution.
